The 2015 Ontario Cup Provincial series wrapped up at Highlands Nordic, an old favourite on the OCUP circuit. It was nice to return following a season break from the fast and flowy Nordic trails. The weather was perfect all weekend making for great trail conditions. The course itself was also a perfect mix of mild elevation and just enough technical elements to keep racers alert.
With overall series standings pretty much defined going into the race, and a few team members still out of town, Team Progressive riders came out to race hard and have fun. Jan had a solid 5th place finish in the Junior Expert field, finishing 7th in the overall series. Jay and Kyle finished 9th and 13th in the Master Expert (30 – 39) field, while mechanical issues ended Mike’s race early. However, Mike maintained enough points throughout to season giving him a 3rd place overall finish in Master Expert (45 – 49). Chris had a great day despite some minor hiccups in the feed zone, which he overcame for a 14th place finish (His blog post here!).
Highlands Nordic was the perfect venue to cap off the 2015 OCUP series and Superfly Racing brought yet another fun course and great event.
